When renowned University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) scientist and researcher Dr. Terrie Williams was looking to create a political action website aimed at saving the endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal she had 3 project concerns. First, was how to create and develop a website that would engage visitors inspiring them to take some action towards Monk Seal conservation, second was how to successfully engage the public at large via social media allowing the plight of the Monk Seal to be spread, and third was completing the project in a very short timeframe to correspond with a new book release. Well, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Williams chose Tree Top Web Design as her Santa Cruz web design partner.
Our Social media strategy included the creation and branding of a Save Monk Seals Facebook page as well as a “members only” download library. The download library consists of pixel perfect wallpapers to fit iPhone, Android, Bluetooth phones as well as iPads and full HD desktop monitors. A set of ringtones were also created featuring the call of a Monk Seal. Members also subscribe to an email list allowing Dr. Williams and staff to communicate directly any Monk Seal conservation and science news updates.
The Save Monk Seals project was completed on time and budget within a very short project window. The site was tested and launched just as Dr. Williams’s new book on Monk Seals was released and she appeared in a string of nationally syndicated news and talk shows.
We are extremely excited to have been selected as Dr. Williams Santa Cruz Web Design partner. Our combined efforts will no doubt help inform more people on the plight of the Hawaiian Monk Seal.
